The nurse dedicated to service as well as being kind was the second importance in their judgement.
4. The students felt that primary purpose of collegiate nursing education is to develop a more mature and well-rounded nurse(39.2%) and the secondary purpose is to train in technical education. (15.5%)
5. In the category of dissatisfactions, the two highest number of complaints were in relation to heavy study load(49%) and the lack of facilities924.9%) (hospital and college).
Another area of dissatisfaction was in relation to the low social status of nurses in Korea. (98.6%) This may be partly true, however, some of the problem may be due to psychological conflicts within the students and these should be corrected. Other complaints were related to professors prejudices and discriminations against the students(14.4%), and the lack of qualified faculty members. (11%)
10% of the students felt that their highest aptitudes were not in the area of nursing.
6. One-third(35%) of the total number of students in this study regret having chosen nursing as a profession, If they were to change their profession on course of study they would choose the following in the order of listing, (percentages listed are the percentages of the 1/3 students dissatisfied with nursing)
